Development Society has implemented and supported a range of locally grounded initiatives in partnership withlocal governments and community schools. These initiatives demonstrate the organization’s practical experience in education recovery, teacher capacity development, school governance, student assessment, health screening, cocurricular support, livelihood policy support and local-level coordination.
Project 1: Real Plan and Learning Recovery Support

Theme
Education and Youth Development
Development Society has supported Recovery and Accelerated Learning Plan-related activities to address learning
losses caused by COVID-19 and other disruptions. The activities focused on restoring learning continuity, supporting
teacher capacity and helping schools use assessment and EMIS/IEMIS data for learning improvement. The ReAL
related work included teacher training, baseline/pre-test assessment, diagnostic tools, student learning-level
identification, EMIS/IEMIS updating, monitoring and reporting. Documents show ReAL-related coverage across
Kabilasi, Kaudena and Dhanakaul, including 30 schools in Kabilasi, 16 schools in Kaudena and 14 schools in
Dhanakaul.

Project 2: Educational Governance, EMIS/IEMIS and Teacher Capacity Development

Development Society has supported educational governance and school capacity development through activities
such as EMIS/IEMIS training, Bal Bikas teacher training, IT resource teacher training, customized integrated
curriculum training, student assessment, teacher mentoring and school supervision. These activities aim to
strengthen teaching-learning practices, improve use of education data, support school-level governance and
enhance the capacity of teachers and school actors.

Development Society has worked on educational governance through activities related to institutional capacity
building, student assessment, teacher mentoring and school supervision. The focus of this work is to strengthen
quality education through improved governance, teacher support, student assessment practices and school-level
monitoring. The initiative recognizes that education quality improves when schools, teachers, students, parents,
School Management Committees and local governments work together.

Project 4: Student Eye Screening and Early Disability Identification
Location:
Kabilasi Municipality, Sarlahi
Theme:
Health and Nutrition / Social Inclusion, Accountability and Learning
Development Society supported school-based eye screening and early disability identification in 30 community
schools of Kabilasi Municipality. The activity prioritized students who were identified by teachers as possibly having
eye-related problems and supported referral for further treatment where needed. The activity reached around 1,500
students and demonstrates Development Society’s ability to integrate child health, disability identification and
education support in school-based programming.

Around 1,500 students from 30 community schools were reached through the screening activity, and students
